
Rachel Jihye Han is a poet, composer, classically trained violinist, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist based in New York City. Her work interweaves the ancient and futuristic, classical and experimental, literary and sonic, and sacred and profane.
A 2025 Synth Library NYC Resident, 2023 MacDowell Fellow, 2023 NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellow, and 2022 Hawthornden Castle Fellow, her work has appeared in Narrative, Pleiades, Interim, Conduit, Spectra, and elsewhere. Her debut poetry collection, I AM RETURNING FOR THE BODY, won the 2024 Gatewood Prize and is forthcoming with Switchback Books in March of 2025.
Her first single, ‘Prima Materia,’ was released on March 19th, 2024, under the name ‘Hiera Jihye.’
